Cool Cooking Hacks
For those of us who love to cook, sometimes we just don’t have hours upon hours to spend in the kitchen creating delicious meals. Luckily, there are some simple things you can do so that you spend less time in the kitchen. Here are some cool cooking hacks.
Easy Peasy Cheesy Bread– A simple and easy way to make cheesy bread is to just partially slice the bread that you have on hand, but don’t slice all the way through. Within the slots, add cheese and olive oil, then just bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Grilling Fish That Won’t Stick– Love grilled fish, but hate that it sticks to the grates? Add a layer of lemons first and then place the fish on top. Not only will the fish not stick to the grill grates, but the lemon will add some zesty flavor to the fish.
Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches– Like ice cream sandwiches, but don’t want to pay crazy prices for the store-bought ones? You can easily make your own at home in just minutes. Grab a pint of ice cream, create some slices and then add one slice between two cookies.
Cut an Onion Without Crying– One of the worst things about slicing onions is that they make you tear up. However, you can save those tears by putting the onion in the freezer for 20 minutes, prior to cutting. This procedure will ensure the compounds in the onion that make you cry are kept at bay.
Peeling Garlic in a Jiffy– Some times, garlic can be a pain to peel. However, there is an easy way to peel it. In a bowl, add the garlic, top with another bowl and shake. The shaking motion should loosen to skin so it comes off with ease.
Getting Every Last Bit of Peanut Butter– Trying to get that last scoop of peanut butter from the bottom of the jar can be annoying at times. Instead, try this: make some plain oatmeal, then add it to the peanut butter jar. Now, add some tasty toppings like brown sugar and walnuts, mix it all together and you have a tasty snack.
