Quick and Easy 4th of July Desserts
When it comes to summer entertaining and 4th of July parties, you want recipes and ideas that are quick and easy. You certainly don’t want to be spending the whole day inside the house baking desserts for the party. Here are some quick and easy 4th of July dessert recipes that don’t require a great deal of skills and they don’t require a lot of time either.
Strawberries Dipped in Cream Cheese– Takes 20 minutes to make and makes 24 strawberries
Ingredients:
1 quart of strawberries, leaving the stems on
3 ounces of plain cream cheese
¼ cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of milk
Blue sprinkles
Directions:
In a bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Add in the milk and beat again until mixture reaches dipping consistency. In a small bowl, pour in the sprinkles. Holding the stem of each strawberry, dip each one into the cream cheese mixture, ensuring the fruit is well-coated. Then, roll the strawberries into the sprinkles so that all sides are coated. Refrigerate and serve.
Berry and Yogurt Salad– Takes 10 minutes to make and makes 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups of strawberries, sliced
1 pint of blueberries
2 cups of raspberries
1 cup of plain yogurt
1/3 cup of lemon pudding
Directions:
In a bowl, add in the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries and toss until mixed together. Add the berries to a glass serving bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the yogurt and the pudding and stir until well combined. Add this mixture to the berries and refrigerate.
Brownie and Fruit Skewers– Takes 25 minutes to make and makes 16-20 skewers
Ingredients:
Pan of brownies already made, cut into cubes
1 pint of blueberries
1 pint of strawberries, stems removed
16 ounce bag of large marshmallows
Wooden skewers
Directions:
Using one skewer at a time, thread one brownie cube, one blueberry, one strawberry and one marshmallow. Repeat this process 3-4 times for each skewer. Refrigerate and serve.
